Originally citrus groves from 1910-1950’s, the South Gate Community began development in the area of Siesta Drive & School Ave. Not long after the first homes were erected, the South Gate Community Association (SGCA) was born.
This festival will be held on SGCA’s beautiful grounds including the community hall, which was designed by Sarasota school architect Victor Lundy. This gorgeous mid-century modern building (and pool) have been designated as historic by Sarasota County.
Come celebrate South Gate with us and learn more about the history of not only this well preserved area but this city we know and love ♥
